At Murrayville Family Practice Group, ensuring you receive the best possible care is our top priority. When it comes to your test results, our policy is to keep you informed promptly and effectively.

Understanding Abnormal Results

If your test results reveal any abnormal findings, rest assured that we will reach out to you. This communication can occur via phone, virtual consultation, or in-person appointment, depending on what works best for you. We understand the importance of addressing any concerns or necessary actions promptly.

“No News Is Good News”

Given the high volume of test reports we handle daily, we follow a general guideline: ‘no news is good news.’ In other words, if you don’t hear from us, it indicates that your results are within the normal range and no further action is needed.

Access Your Test Results

To easily access your test results, including X-rays, ultrasounds, and CT scans, we invite you to join Accession, our patient portal. This secure platform provides you with direct access to your personal health records maintained by Murrayville Family Practice Group.

Follow-Up and Review After your test results are available, you will receive a follow-up call or email from your healthcare provider or one of our dedicated medical office assistants (MOAs). If you prefer, you can also request your provider to review the results with you during your next scheduled appointment.

Additional Access

You can also access your personal health records including through BC Health Gateway at https://www.healthgateway.gov.bc.ca/

We are committed to ensuring your well-being and providing clear, supportive communication regarding your health journey. If you have any questions or concerns about your test results or accessing them, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Your health is our priority.

At Murrayville Family Practice Group, your safety and wellbeing are paramount to us. To ensure seamless and safe medical care, we utilize PharmaNet – a secure network that connects community pharmacies, family physicians (FPs), and nurse practitioners (NPs) across the province.

Why PharmaNet Matters

The field of medicine is intricate, and many individuals receive care from multiple healthcare providers. It’s not uncommon to have more than one professional prescribing medications for you. To ensure your health and safety, we, as your healthcare provider, must have access to your current medication profile. This helps us prevent potential risks associated with medication interactions and duplications.

Privacy and Security First

Rest assured, safeguarding your personal information is of utmost importance. Only authorized and trained staff members have access to your health records, which include your medication profile. We take your privacy seriously and strictly adhere to security protocols to ensure the confidentiality of your data.

Your Consent Matters

As a valued patient of Murrayville Family Practice Group, we consider that you grant us your implied consent to access PharmaNet. This access is vital to providing you with comprehensive and informed medical care. If you have any concerns or questions about PharmaNet access, we encourage you to discuss them with your primary care provider.

Your health and safety are at the core of everything we do. Should you ever require further clarification or wish to discuss any aspect of your healthcare journey, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Your wellbeing is our commitment.

Kindly refrain from wearing scented products.

To ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment for everyone, we kindly request that you avoid using scented products when visiting our office. This small gesture can make a big difference in ensuring a space that is enjoyable and accommodating for all individuals. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making our office scent-free. Thank you.

At Murrayville Family Practice, every patient is valued and treated with the utmost compassion and respect. We understand that health care matters can evoke strong emotions and stress, and we are dedicated to being empathetic and understanding in these situations. It is our sincere belief that a partnership of mutual respect between our team and our patients is essential for fostering a positive healthcare experience.

We kindly request that our patients reciprocate this commitment by treating our staff with respect and consideration. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for any form of physical or verbal abuse. We insist on maintaining a professional and respectful environment for everyone.

Additionally, we ask that conversations remain respectful and refrain from using offensive language or engaging in any form of harassment. We value effective communication and strive to create an atmosphere of trust and understanding.

In the spirit of a successful patient-provider partnership, we encourage our patients to actively engage in their healthcare journey by adhering to our recommendations and attending appointments promptly. During office visits, we dedicate our full attention to addressing your needs, and we kindly request the same consideration in return. To ensure an environment conducive to focused conversations, we kindly ask that cell phones be set to vibrate and calls be deferred until after your appointment.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Your commitment to our shared values enhances the quality of care we can provide to you and all our patients.

At Murrayville Family Practice, our commitment to providing quality care extends to every aspect of your healthcare experience, including appointment scheduling. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but it’s essential to recognize that missed appointments impact not only your care but also the care of other patients in need.

An appointment that goes unfilled due to a no-show prevents another patient from receiving timely care. While we understand emergencies can arise, we appreciate your diligence in informing us at your earliest convenience if you cannot make a scheduled appointment. We will work with you to reschedule promptly.

To optimize our appointment scheduling process, we kindly request a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel your appointment. This advance notice allows us to reallocate the appointment time to someone else who may need care. Please be aware that failing to provide the required notice may result in an invoice for the booked office visit.

We have established a dedicated 24-hour cancellation line to facilitate easy appointment cancellations. When you call our office, you can access the cancellation line by pressing 2 on our phone system. Simply leave your name, appointment date, and time for the cancellation. As an alternative, you can also utilize Accession, our patient portal, for managing appointments.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. By working together to manage appointments effectively, we ensure that all our patients receive the timely care they deserve. Your commitment contributes to a well-functioning healthcare system that benefits everyone.

In the event that you prefer an alternative approach, you may contact your designated pharmacy and request a prescription refill directly through them. Your pharmacy will then forward the request to our office, where our practitioners will review and process it. Rest assured that we strive to complete refill requests within 3-4 business days.

We are committed to making your healthcare experience as convenient as possible. By utilizing these prescription refill options, you can ensure timely access to your medications, contributing to your overall well-being. Should you have any queries or require assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our dedicated team.

Your Medical Services Plan (MSP) serves as your essential public health insurance, encompassing a wide range of medical services provided by your primary care provider, including MDs and NPs. However, it is important to note that there are certain services that fall outside the scope of MSP coverage, and these are referred to as “uninsured services.”

Examples of uninsured services encompass various administrative forms, such as sick notes, insurance forms, and disability forms. While MSP plays a pivotal role in ensuring your access to vital medical care, it does not extend to covering these particular types of services.

A comprehensive list of uninsured services can be found by clicking HERE

If you have further questions about the specific offerings covered by MSP, we encourage you to reach out to our office during our regular operating hours. Our team is here to provide you with the necessary information, clarify any queries you may have, and guide you through the nuances of your coverage.

We value your trust at Murrayville Family Practice Group, and ensuring your awareness of your coverage options is an integral part of our commitment to your well-being. Don’t hesitate to connect with us for further assistance and insight.

At Murrayville Family Practice Group, we welcome patients accompanied by certified guide dogs and service dogs, as outlined in the BC Guide Dog and Service Dog Act. A service dog is a dog that is specifically trained to perform tasks that assist an individual with a disability, helping them with daily living activities. Service dogs must be certified and work alongside their handler as a team. We understand the vital role these dogs play in supporting individuals, and our clinic is committed to providing a welcoming environment for all patients.

Please ensure that your service dog is on a leash or harness during your visit and does not occupy seats in patient care areas. If you have any questions or need assistance during your visit, our team is here to help.
